Wicklow Cardiac First Responders up Lugnaquilla

F.A.S.T. Campaign

Wickow Cardiac First Responders led by John O'Reilly took the F.A.S.T. message right to the top of Lugnaquilla on Saturday 3rd July. They distributed F.A.S.T info to the walkers they met along their 925 meter climb.

As part of their activities the Wicklow Cardiac First Responders have held information nights in Arklow and Ballitore where they taught stroke recognition using F.A.S.T. Two more information nights are planned before the end of the summer in Rathdangan and Eadestown. The Responders are holding a fund raising bag pack in Dunnes Stores in Blessington as well as a stand at the Tinahely Agricultural Show on August 2nd.

We have also been upskilling 450 responders in Wicklow so they can also spread the "act F.A.S.T. for stroke" message.

28th Dunlavin Festival of Arts

The sun shone on the 28th Dunlavin Festival of Arts on June 18th to 20th . The festival was officially opened by Billy Timmins T.D. Billy praised the works of art that were on show in the 3 exhibitions saying it was wonderful to see so much talent in a small community. He also praised the community spirit and hard work of the organisers for keeping a festival going for 28 years especially in the difficult times we are in. The opening was followed by some delightful choral music by the DARA  Ensemble . A set dance ceili took place on the Friday night and this raised over €1000 for St. Brigids Hospice on the Curragh.
