Dunlavin family butcher “Showers with flowers”!

This is the second year running Dunlavin has had its streets strewn with flowers by way of beautiful hanging baskets. This year, however, their appearance is entirely due to the extraordinary generosity of Myles & Tanya Doyle.

Myles and Tanya, owners of Doyle’s Family Butchers, are strong supporters of local initiatives aimed at improving the town, and this year when funding for the Dunlavin Summer Hanging Basket Project was floundering, they approached the Dunlavin & Distinct Forum offering their assistance and ended up financing the entire project.  The only stipulation they insisted on was that the Forum use a local supplier. We’re delighted to report that Kitty Tinkler, the local florist, was only too happy to oblige.

Myles said, “Given the present climate, it’s a great pleasure to assist the Dunlavin Forum, or indeed any of the local groups that are working towards get things moving or making improvements about our town. Tanya thought it would be a nice idea to sponsor this project and I believe she was spot on.  Sure what better way to say thanks to our loyal customers around Dunlavin than with flowers? Not to mention the fact that the place looks much better for them”.

“Who am I to argue with a man wielding a 12 inch blade in his hand!
